Press Release

Have your say on Brentwood Borough Council Environment Strategy 2022-2025

Date: 27 June 2022

Brentwood Borough Council is inviting everyone who lives or has their business based in the borough to have a say on their new Environment Strategy 2022–2025.

People are welcome to give their views to the Environment Strategy Consultation via an online survey. The survey has three main categories with questions, a choice of multiple answers and a section for other comments. The categories are general, businesses and young people.

Anyone who is unable to fill in the form online, can call the council’s customer contact centre on 01277 312500, for assistance in completing the survey.

Councillor Will Russell, Chair of the Community, Environment and Enforcement Committee said: “We are encouraging the local community to give us feedback on our new Environment Strategy. We all want to do our part locally and this survey is a good start, as people can express their views with us. Everyone knows that the environmental agenda is a world-wide concern and has been for many years. The Council’s response to tackling the broader issues of climate change are now more urgent than ever before.

“Many councils, including Brentwood have set targets for carbon neutrality. These targets are in our strategy - which you can find on our website. We have a responsibility to act within our community and wider, as part of the global efforts to protect the planet- by reducing emissions caused by human activity.”

The Council has recently confirmed that it will be delivering 47 further Electric Vehicle (EV) chargers over the coming 18 months and these will be rolled out in council carparks by autumn next year.

The selected carparks for the EV chargers are King Georges/Chatham Way,

Hunters Avenue/Friars Avenue, Mart Place & Bell Mead and Brentwood Multi Storey and Brentwood International Centre.
