Press Release

Council reminds local people that the Brentwood Community Fund is available

Date: 11 July 2022

Brentwood Borough Council is reminding not-for-profit organisations and individuals that the Brentwood Community Fund is still open. Applicants and interested parties are invited to bid for funding to benefit community projects in the borough.

The fund is a collaboration with the Council, Axis - the repair and maintenance service for the council and Seven Arches Investments Limited (SAIL). This year, there is an increase of up to £5000 maximum per application, as an added bonus.

Both Axis and Seven Arches Investments Limited have contributed generously to the Brentwood Community Fund, enabling a greater number of applications.

Axis is excited to support the fund as part of its social value commitment to the local community and SAIL support the opportunity to financially help Brentwood communities.

To apply for funding, projects must benefit Brentwood communities and be delivered in the borough. Projects should also show volunteer and community involvement, be sustainable and support community criteria.

Any projects that support health and wellbeing, have to involve people with lived-experience. Priority will be given to people who have not previously received any funding for their projects from the Community Fund, or from the Mental Health Small Grants Team.Previous applicants may apply with new projects, however, priority will be given to those that have not received previous funding from the Community Fund or the Mental Health Small Grants Scheme.

Brentwood Borough Council’s Chair of the Community, Environment and Enforcement Committee, Councillor Will Russell, said: “In Brentwood, we have a lot of diversity and creativity, and I would like to remind and encourage individuals and organisations based locally to come forward and put a bid in for their project.

“The extra boost of money this year will help and support any projects long term. The funding will also be distributed quicker to those who need it.”

If you or your organisation would like to apply for the funding and would like to find out more information about the criteria involved, please visit the Council’s website at www.brentwood.gov.uk/funding
