Two of Brentwood's children have won a competition to design the Mayor of Brentwood’s Christmas card.
The Mayor, Councillor Olivia Francois, launched the Christmas card and Christmas poem competition inviting children from across the Borough to get into the festive spirit and submit their best drawing for the front of the card and to write a poem for the message inside. The two winners of the competition joined the Mayor on stage on Saturday 26th November to help her light up Brentwood.
The winner of the Christmas card design competition was Chloe Rutherford aged 8, who drew Santa dropping off presents by the Christmas tree. The Christmas poem competition winner was Ella McRae aged 10, with her poem ‘My Christmas Wish’ which will be published inside the Mayor’s Christmas card. The design and poem will be used as the Mayor’s Christmas card this year.
Mayor of Brentwood, Councillor Olivia Francois said: “There was an exceptional standard of entries for the Christmas card and poem competitions this year; choosing the winners was no easy task. Chloe and Ella have done a wonderful job with their design and poem which is now in my official Christmas card that I will be sending out.”
